A wonderful mix of expats and locals have enriched our lives here through lively conversation, tasty meals, out of the ordinary adventures and fantastic travel tips. They have also opened their homes to us, giving a peak at the many lifestyles to be had here. Some rent, some own, some hotel it; with spouse, with kids, with parents; old shophouses, super-condominiums, demi-d's, renovated grand dames; long-term, a short stint, who-cares-how-long; dogs, cats, eee-gad is that a snake? Since we are mildly addicted to homes and interiors, it has been a pleasure to peek inside their lives.
Recently we were asked to cat-sit for an American couple we know through Pelle's work. We readily said yes and even thanked them for thinking of us. (For those of you who know the Mango The Wondercat story, you'll wonder if Pelle has turned a new leaf.)
No, it wasn't a newfound fondness for felines (although Denise has been a long time fan), but rather this couple's insanely beautiful and spacious condo right on the sea. On a high floor with 3 (!) decks looking out in all directions, we couldn't resist settling in for a week.
Look at the view we had a couple nights ago with a dark purple storm rolling in! Plus, the place is almost brand-new, so the fab kitchen even has a dishwasher! I haven't even seen one in over a year, so maybe I'm a bit overly enthusiastic to do dishes; nevertheless, it feels like a palace compared to our current apartment.
